An Evening of Color & Connection: Inside Our Girl Dinner Paint & Sip
There’s something quietly powerful about a table full of women with paint on their hands.
Last week, Girl Dinner returned—this time with a creative twist. What unfolded wasn’t just a paint & sip. It was an invitation to slow down, to make something with intention, and to remember that creativity doesn’t belong to a select few—it lives in all of us, waiting for a little space to emerge.
Guided by the thoughtful and deeply intentional Alexandra Fanelli, the evening became more than an activity. It became a shared experience. One where curiosity was welcomed, perfection was left at the door, and connection took center stage.
We drew inspiration from the work of Alma Thomas—a woman who redefined what it means to begin again. Alma didn’t receive widespread recognition until her later years, yet her work is filled with undeniable joy, rhythm, and bold expression. Her signature style—vibrant, mosaic-like patterns of color—feels like a celebration of possibility. A reminder that it’s never too late to explore, to experiment, to create something entirely your own.
And that spirit lingered in the evening air.
With markers in hand (thanks to our friends at Edding), each woman interpreted Alma’s work in her own way. Some pieces were structured, others intuitive. Some bold, others soft. All of them beautiful. Not because they were perfect—but because they were personal.
Between sips of bubbly and bites shared across the table, conversations unfolded in that effortless way they do when women feel safe to be both seen and inspired. Stories were exchanged. Ideas sparked. There was laughter, reflection, and that unmistakable energy that happens when people come together with openness and intention.
This is the heart of Girl Dinner.
Not just gathering—but gathering with purpose. Creating space for women to connect, to celebrate, to explore new sides of themselves—and to do it alongside others who are doing the same.
Because there is something deeply special about learning in community.
About witnessing someone else try something new—and feeling braver because of it.
About creating, not in isolation, but in connection.
It wasn’t just about what we made.
It was about how we felt while making it.
And that’s something worth returning to, again and again. ✨
