From Gratitude to Vision: A Beautiful Way to Begin the Year
This past weekend we hosted our first in-person event of the year. We gathered for a hands-on goal-setting and vision workshop and, of course, muffins & mimosas. The workshop was thoughtfully designed to help women pause, reflect, and start the year with clarity and confidence.
We were honored to invite Beth Harper to join us in hosting “Your Year, Your Vision” Vision buliding workshop. Beth Harper is the Content Marketing Manager at VaynerX and the newest teacher at Miami Ad School, focused on culture, speed, and turning ideas into work that actually drives relevance. Over the years, she has launched several brands and creative projects. Most recently, she introduced Girl, Grow Up, a video series built around one simple question asked to women from all walks of life: what advice would you give your younger self?
What’s more, she’s a girls’ girl. She’s loves to see other women succeed and actively invests in them. That’s why she created the “Your Year, Your Vision” workbook. It’s a practical guide to starting your new year off on the right foot.
This weekend we were privileged to have her walk us through in in person.
Here are our 3 takeaways from the “Your Year. Your Vision.” workshop:
Start with Gratitude
Your past year didn’t need to be perfect in order to be grateful for it. Gratitude literally rewires your brain and puts you in the right headspace to dream for what’s to come. Give yourself space to think about what you’re thankful for in the past year. It can be anything? Travel, new friendships, lessons learned, good things, hard things… it all counts.
2. Write “Real” and “Dream” Goals
It’s important to set realistic and actionable goals for yourself. We’re all fans of S.M.A.R.T. goals over here, but you also need to give yourself space to dream big. It’s too easy to play small and the world needs more women who are playing B-I-G. That’s why we don’t just write “Real” goals (aka the ones we know we can achieve if we consistently stick with it) but we also write “Dream” goals. Those are the ones that require faith. They’re the goals that will take a good dose of the miraculous to happen. It’s important to have those in the mix too. As they say, "Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you'll land among the stars."
3. Share Your Goals in Community
One of the most powerful moments came from sharing our visions out loud. In community, our goals felt lighter, braver, and more possible. There’s something special that happens when women gather to reflect, dream, and cheer one another on.
Participants walked away with a clear framework for organizing their goals, resources to create their own digital vision board to anchor the year ahead, fresh perspective, and new friends who are genuinely rooting for them. It was a reminder that clarity is kind, and that growth doesn’t have to be lonely.
If you’re dealing with a serious case of FOMO, we have good news! Beth has graciously made her workbook available as a free download. If you would like a copy all you need to do is click here and share your deets. We’ll send it right over.
